About Sarah

Sarah Murray is a registered nurse, yoga instructor, and lactation counselor in NYC.378947_448397178541224_1037895393_n

Sarah’s regular yoga practice began in 2008 at Vitality Yoga studio.  She completed Yoga Alliance’s RYT200 yoga teacher training in 2011 under Danny Kim, Jamie Lyn Skolnick, and Brandon Silaco, and has been teaching at Vitality ever since.  Also a registered nurse with over a decade of experience in women’s health, Sarah weaves her knowledge of the body and capacity for caring and compassion into her yoga instruction.  Sarah finds inspiration in all styles of yoga, the study of yogic tradition and philosophy, music, culture, and mother nature.  Her yoga classes seek to move the body in a way that feels natural with creative sequences that are rooted in breath and alignment.  Each class is built around a theme with the intention to open minds and hearts, shift perspective, reveal the true self, and deepen understanding of yoga.

Sarah’s nursing work over the last 13 years has focused on caring for women in both high-risk and uncomplicated pregnancies, during labor & delivery, and in postpartum support with breastfeeding.  Currently certified in childbirth education and lactation counseling, she is an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) candidate for this year.

Sarah is available for private or group yoga/prenatal yoga instruction and childbirth education classes.
